Admissible Vectors for the Regular Representation
نویسنده
چکیده
It is well known that for irreducible, square-integrable representations of a locally compact group, there exist so-called admissible vectors which allow the construction of generalized continuous wavelet transforms. In this paper we discuss when the irreducibility requirement can be dropped, using a connection between generalized wavelet transforms and Plancherel theory. For unimodular groups with type I regular representation, the existence of admissible vectors is equivalent to a finite measure condition. The main result of this paper states that this restriction disappears in the nonunimodular case: Given a nondiscrete, second countable group G with type I regular representation λG, we show that λG itself (and hence every subrepresentation thereof) has an admissible vector in the sense of wavelet theory iff G is nonunimodular.

The study of relation between existence of admissible vectors and amenability and compactness of a locally compact group
The existence of admissible vectors for a locally compact group is closely related to the group's profile. In the compact groups, according to Peter-weyl theorem, every irreducible representation has admissible vector. In this paper, the conditions under which the inverse of this case is being investigated has been investigated. Conditions such as views that are admissible and stable will get c...
متن کاملAdmissible Vectors of a Covariant Representation of a Dynamical System
In this paper, we introduce admissible vectors of covariant representations of a dynamical system which are extensions of the usual ones, and compare them with each other. Also, we give some sufficient conditions for a vector to be admissible vector of a covariant pair of a dynamical system. In addition, we show the existence of Parseval frames for some special subspaces of $L^2(G)$ related to...

Let $G$ be a tamely ramified reductive $p$-adic group. We study distinction of a class of irreducible admissible representations of $G$ by the group of fixed points $H$ of an involution of $G$. The representations correspond to $G$-conjugacy classes of pairs $(T,phi)$, where $T$ is a tamely ramified maximal torus of $G$ and $phi$ is a quasicharacter of $T$ whose restriction t...
متن کاملAdmissible vectors and traces on the commuting algebra
Given a representation of a unimodular locally compact group, we discuss criteria for associated coherent state expansions in terms of the commuting algebra. It turns out that for those representations that admit such expansions there exists a unique finite trace on the commuting algebra such that the admissible vectors are precisely the tracial vectors for that trace. This observation is immed...

Let G be a semisimple almost simple algebraic group defined and split over K with a given O-struct...
